Constant Power for Backup Camera

I know, I know, there's a search button right up top. I tried looking but I'm not really sure how to define the terms to get what I'm after.

So where do you recommend hooking up to to get CONSTANT (key on) power? I'd like to be able to check on a trailer as I drive 'cause SOME PEOPLE have a bad habit of forgetting to lock the coupler...

Thanks!

I would run a switch to power... constant 12 could shorten the camera life.

Otherwise get your test light and grab 12 from the parking lights (also switch on) or in the trailer harness (constant 12 for brakes)

Yea, to me, Constant is Battery Power and Switched is Key On...

In an '02 I think Fuse #29 is what they call "Customer Access" and might be what you need.

EVERYTHING you might need for an '02, electrically speaking, is on this guys site -> https://sites.google.com/site/woodnt...iring-diagrams

your going to aim a constant on at the coupler instead of d a pre tow inspection?

the hotlead at the 7 pin is KEY ON for mine I think yours is the same that would keep the power lead short

When I had a reverse camera on my F-150, I hooked it up to the 12v+ at the trailer wiring. Worked great and you could watch it as you went down the road.

Wow that's quite the link, thanks for that. It's been bookmarked.

So yes, I am looking for key on power. I wanted to specify that I wanted it for more than just reverse. The headunit detects that automatically and has the option to use it at other times
