After some head scratching got the hydra installed and working like a champ. After driving stock forever it's amazing feeling what that chip can do!

Big thanks to CNC Fab for getting it to me so quickly!

I remember my first ride after I put in my TS chip. WOW! What a difference!

Enjoy it.

Buckhornmike Now that you got the hydra in and working, do you like it well enough that if you would do it buy again if you were starting over. I am wanting to get one for my 99 sd but not sure if I would like it.

I'm not sure anyone has ever not liked the hydra. What are your concerns or reasons you think you wouldn't like it?

Meh...itís not that great unless you like lots of settings, display that actually shows what tune your on, accepts tunes from other tuners, ability to remove it without permanent changes to the truck, ability to program it yourself instead of sending it in to re-burn, multiple controller options/locations.

So, I'm thinking about replacing my old PHP FU (TS Chip with a burner) next year with a Hydra. The FU has been end of lifed and I can't re burn it myself anymore.
It'll be my luck the Hydra is discontinued and replaced shortly after I buy one!

The good thing is, I'm fairly happy with my TS/FU chip and the tunes I have on it, but wish I had put a high idle tune on it.

Until the Hydra 2 that holds 128 tunes with USB3.0 fir faster uploading and a full color touch screen control comes out.

Lets start that rumor!

You're probably right though... why develop for a 15 year old (minimum) truck.
