Since I got back from elk hunting yesterday, here's what I did to my 7.3 this week:

Slid around a lot and got stuck a few times on the trails--had to back down the middle of a trail and up the other side to get momentum to get up where I needed to go
Made it into a 5-ton bobsled on a steep hill going to intercept an elk herd (about a 1/4 mile and a 45* angle with about 4" of snow)--brakes were useless and steering was like a bobsled's
Bottomed out hard a few times on the run, and a few other trails
Did something to it that causes it to sometimes make a metal-hitting-metal sound if it bumps just right or if I make a turn--passenger front side
Noticed it might be leaking more oil than before
Took it to the car wash today and manually washed the mag-chloride off the sides and undercarriage

Hoping to lube it and change the oil tomorrow--maybe see if I can find what I did to it the last few days

Dually bed install almost complete, still need to install the filler neck, wire the lights and get two tail gate cables.

It was a beautiful day in Georgia today. Mid 70s and sunny. The truck got a wash and wax and put it in the Christmas spirit.

That would be nice, it was a pain, my hand was cramped for days after doing that.

ran a buzz test today using forscan on my android since the truck decided to have 1 cylinder stop working yesterday! Pretty cool you can do those kind of test for 5 bucks (with an adapter of course). Came back with p1277 - cyl 7 open. Noticeable shake at idle, doesnt want to rev. Pretty sure its the UVCH, got a few glowplug codes as well so gonna start there.

Question which I think I know the answer to, is it bad to drive it a like 8 miles to my shop? Would prefer to save the tow but not willing to risk the motor. Its not smoking or anything so I dont think its getting fuel. I feel like driving it the few miles to the shop is probably a bad idea, but wanted to throw it out there.

Thanks.

Replaced ac clutch assembly today. Bearing wasn't bad but the rest was pretty well wore out. Went to set air gap and couldn't find my feeler gauge so I winged it. I'll set it tomorrow after I get new feelers, think it's.020"

I ran on 4 cylinders for over 50miles b4 I could come home to remove the valve cover to fix it. You’re not out of town so I suggest you don’t drive it and fix it ASAP.
