If you can trust the guy but he's a little slow and owns his occasional mistake, let it go. Having a good relationship with a man you can trust is worth a lot more than the 1-2 weeks it costs you. I feel like there's something else to the story. Is this your only mode of transport? You waiting on it for a job?
Thanks Chris. I don't absolutely need the truck, but could definitely use it. I expected this to take two days, but looking like about 4 weeks at this point. The two 40 minute (one way) trips to get the wrong parts was aggravating. In this day and age you think you could look at a picture of it to make sure it was right. Oh, well. Now, I have to go back and get my refund for the brake lines. Going to just sit back and hope to get it back by the end of next week.

I get it, man. I've definitely been there, especially when they half-*** it, or try to manipulate me. You sound like a pretty reasonable guy. I think there's definitely something there when a fella gets the ordered part wrong the 2nd time. But, humans make mistakes. I hope he takes care of you now for it.

Kind of the way I live my life with these experiences is this. You have three variables, Good work, Fast work, and Cheap work. You can only have two of the three. If its good and fast, then it won't be cheap. Cheap and fast then, then it won't be good. Good and cheap won't be fast.

I hope those are the only possibilities, or did you forget slow, bad and cheap?

Had to have a good chuckle at that response haha. Keep your spirits up and be patient I'm sure you'll love the truck once it gets finished...next year
