pistons: best bang for the buck?

about to rebuild an engine for the 01.
may end up using a pre 97 short block and rotating assembly if mine cant be cleaned up and/or is determined to have forged rods or not.
the bore is stock @ 4.11, but theres a good sized lip at the top of the cylinder between the deck and top ring.

ive been looking at pistons on e-bay and amazon, but none of these places specifys the type of material they are made of.

are they all forged aluminum?

not going to be built for any kind of extreme duty, I just want it to last.. I plan on keeping it stock ish.

what do you guys recommend?

1941 1/2 ton pick up in the planning stages
many gassers, irrelevant here

All are aluminum- you want nothing but maher pistons. May have spelled it wrong but check them out. They are oem and found in any and all stock to performance kits.

The way our block is built - rings rarely if ever fail. Hell they don't even wear out. It's the piston walls that wear out. You ought to bore .020 thou out and it should clean up nicely. Forged rods are cheap on eBay - 25-30 a piece.

im a precision machinist, I deal with things on the thousanths scale all day everyday, without running a ball hone down the cylinder and measuring it, im gonna call it a .020 ridge. may deem the block garbage.
not to mention #7 piston cracked, and I havnt taken a look at the cylinder yet.
but I do have other options.

just about to put the engine on a run stand ill see if I can grab a pic
