I see a lot of opinions about the delo vs rotella debate,
some hate it, some swear by it.
kinda reminds me of everything going wrong with the world today, just peacefully.

does anyone have any actual data to back up their claims?

I believe FullForce injector staff were saying there was a negative difference when they received injectors that used rotella vs delo or other brands. I haven't contacted them myself and I use Delo anyways. I think its like 47 cents cheaper a gallon at walmart anyways hahaha. I did some some talk about rotella not using an oil anti foaming additive? im not a petroleum engineer though.

I will look up full force injectors and give them a call on my lunch. I use Delo so it doesn't much matter to me but we'll see what they say and why they say it.

I've been running Rotella in my 02 since I bought it in 05. 1 gal synthetic and 10 qts of Rotella T 15w40. My engine has 0 sludge and have had multiple mechanics, all say that my engine looks good. Bought the truck with 130k and has 335k on it now.

full force emailed me back and this is directly from their email response *I removed my email from the to: and the guys name just in case he is not legally able to speak for Full Force as a representative. but I feel they answered my question and i'll keep using dele 15w-40 in summer and I MAY try dele 5w-40 synthetic in the winter.

Subject: Oil's
We personally have seen that Rotella is not a real good oil to use in the HEUI injectors IF you are gonna put 5k + miles on a oil change. If you are gonna change the oil every 2-3K miles then rotella will be fine. HEUI injector trucks like the 7.3 & 6.0 break the oil down so fast that by 3k miles it needs to be changed. We use the schaffers oil here.

you don't need that stuff or the almost as expensive royal purple. Delo 15w-40 has been doing everyone else just fine. I don't know what the winters are like in your area but the Delo 5w-40 full synthetic is still cheaper then buying dele conventional with 16oz of archoil. I think $70 for my normal and just add 25 if you want full synthetic delo.

I use the motorcraft 15w 40 you can find it at Walmart for $17-18 for a 5 quart jug. It is designed to be used in a heui system. I like it much better then rotella.

Didn't realize I had so many responses nor did I mean to start the rotella vs delo debate either. Simply just curious if anyone has had any positive or negative feedback about the rotella T4?!? I ended up finding some rotella t and have already changed my oil and sent it off to have it analyzed. Curious to see how the rotella is held up after 5k mikes.

So let me ask you all this. Truck has had rotella t since birth. Would switching to delo with 225k (when my next oil change is due) cause problems? Would it be better to switch to rotella synthetic and keep it in the rotella family? I've heard that synthetic can lead to leaks for whatever reason?!?
