2001 F-350 SRW BUILD THREAD.

SO I PICKED UP A 2001 F-350 SRW A FEW MONTHS AGO.....

I AM NOW HAVING THE TYPICAL FORD RUST ON THE REAR WHEEL ARCHES AND THE CAB CORNERS REPAIRED.....

I WANT TO INSTALL AN 08.....09.....OR 10 CENTER CONSOLE.....A LATE MODEL TAILGATE.....AND A LATE MODEL CHROME BUMPER WITH BACKUP SENSORS.....

SINCE I AM GOING TO REMOVE THE CAP.....I HAVE A "BED-SLIDE" FOR A LONG BED THAT I AM WILLING TO TRADE FOR AN 08.....09.....OR 10 CENTER CONSOLE AND CHROME REAR BUMPER WITH BACKUP SENSORS.....OR THE BUMPER AND A LATE MODEL TAILGATE.....

I PREFER THAT THE CONSOLE HAVE THE BLACK TOP AND TAN SIDES.....BUT AN ALL TAN OR ALL BLACK CONSOLE WILL ALSO WORK.....

I WILL BE INSTALLING NEW HEADLIGHTS.....NEW GRILL.....NEW FACTORY FRONT BUMPER.....NEW SIDE STEPS / NERF BARS.....NEW TOW MIRRORS.....NEW FENDER BADGES.....ATOMIC STROBE LIGHTS.....CAB PROTECTOR.....NEW TAIL LIGHTS.....

NEW INTERIOR SWITCH PANEL.....HIGH IDLE SWITCH.....

NEW SHOCKS.....NEW BRAKES.....NEW EXHAUST.....

I WANT TO DO MOST OF THE ENGINE AND FUEL MODS THAT I HAVE READ ON THIS SITE.....

MAYBE NEW WHEELS AND TIRES.....

I AM SURE THAT THE LIST WILL GROW.....

I ALREADY BOUGHT.....

2 NEW BATTERIES.....HEADLIGHTS.....TOW MIRRORS.....FENDER BADGES.....CAB PROTECTOR.....PATCH PANELS FOR THE BED AND CAB CORNERS.....NEW BED BOLTS.....

ANY ADVICE AND GUIDANCE WILL BE WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED.....

THERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE CONSOLE THAT I WANT AND THE ACTUAL "BED-SLIDE" FOR TRADE IN THE PHOTOS BELOW.....

PHOTOS OF THE TRUCK ARE NOW POSTED.....

SO.....I AM MAKING DECISIONS ON WHAT PARTS TO BUY.....AND I WANT SOME OPINIONS ON GAUGES.....AND FLUIDS.....

DOES ANYONE HERE HAVE AN OPINION ON USING AN EDGE EVOLUTION CS.....VS.....SEPARATE GAUGES?....

IS THERE ANY ADVANTAGE OF ONE OVER THE OTHER?....

CAN I GET THE SAME INFORMATION OUT OF THE EDGE AS THE GAUGES WITH JUST A GLANCE.....OR WILL I HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING BUTTONS ON THE EDGE IN ORDER TO SEE THE INFORMATION?....

ARE BOTH SYSTEMS EQUALLY ACCURATE?....

I KNOW THAT IT MAY BE EASIER TO USE THE EDGE THAN INSTALLING 3 OR 4 GAUGES.....BUT I WOULD RATHER USE THE MOST ACCURATE AND BENEFICIAL SYSTEM FOR MY TRUCK.....

AS FAR AS THE FLUIDS GO.....IS SYNTHETIC OIL GOOD OR BAD FOR A DIESEL ENGINE?....(VS CONVENTIONAL OIL).....

ALSO.....I SEE OF LOT OF OWNERS USING A FILTERING SYSTEM FOR THE COOLANT SYSTEMS.....WHAT IS THE ISSUE WITH DIESEL ENGINES AND COOLANT FILTRATION?....

THANKS.....

It's very hard to read when everything is in ALL CAPS.

Edge cts is good. You can monitor a few different parameters per screen.

Synthetic oil is just fine. A lot of us run it.

Some run a coolant system. It grabs sand and other debris in the system.
