I thought both would just reset it to default but I guess I was wrong.

Although they're both called "sensors", the IPR is actually controlling rather than sensing anything and there's really no default to be able to set. So the default ICP (@2,200) is what the PCM uses as an assumed pressure (when it's ignoring the readings coming from the ICP) to command the IPR's % numbers as kind of the "Limp Mode" to keep the engine running.

Unplugged, and doing nothing, the IPR couldn't do it's job at all and it's really necessary
