Tuner

I just bought a truck and it had a tuner in it. I think it is an older one and wanted to know how good it was. This is a picture of it

Personally I wouldn't use it. You'd be better off with known good tunes.

Old school tuning, very basic but very safe.
I put one on our farms f450 over 10 years ago, never been off of Tow.

Personally if your not big into features and only use one tune most of the time the older micromax was a basic no frills and fairly safe tuner. A friends dad has been using a micromax 1705 superchip on his 1999 past 90k miles towing a 5th wheel with zero shift/performance issues. Now the Hydra is a better product in all aspects with more features. But, if your worried about the current flash tuner if you keep it on the tow profile or stock when towing you'll never have issues. Almost all performance/higher hp tunes will dictate the need to not be towing and use an egt gauge.

What they all said^^^ I had one on my 7.3 about 10 years ago too, and it helps some on power. If you are looking for something newer, then the PHP Hydra is the best device for the 7.3L engine platform, and they are offering a $25 rebate for a couple more days.
