Alternator swap

So I don't know if this is where I'm supposed to post this but I have a 6.0 alternator that is fairly new. The one on my truck is going bad and was wondering if the 6.0 one would fit my obs 7.3. I know I would have to change the plug but that's not to bad, what I want to know is if it is the right power output and if it just bolts up.

What's the part # on the 6.0?

Will take some research but it's important to know how the voltage is regulated.

i have a 7.3 leece Neville alternator on my 6.0 it is the same unit as far as those go

your 7.3 uses a large case and the 6.0 is a small case ( bigger is better IMO for cooling ) and I think you are correct you would need a pig tail adapter

6.0 flush pdf

So it bolted right up, all that need changing was the plug which was 2 wires. It charges great now.
