Holy crap seriously?? I never trip over amazing deals like that. I priced a reman trans a couple years ago from the trans shop we deal with and it was $4500. Needless to say, I'm still on my original

With the help of my Brother, we got my new Battery cables done yesterday.

Terminals aren't straight to let the wires lay how they should lay and not interfere with sharp edges and moving parts.

2-0 wire between the battery's, to the starter, and ground on each battery.
14ga signal wire to starter mounted relay.
4ga power wire to feed the trucks fuses.
1-0 wire to feed the glow plugs directly on the battery fused at 250 amps.
4ga Block to Frame Ground.
4ga Alternator to Battery Ground.

OEM cables resemble a 2ga between batteries and 1-0 from battery to starter.

Hopefully this should fix my SLOW starting issues. Its already improved my ground interference in the cab, and the engine spins over pretty quick now, but its only like 40* out. So, Time will tell. But the OEM cables did have some waves in the covering indicating some corrosion inside them.

Pulled the "new" F250 into the garage earlier this week. And over the week... Its changed.

Photos tell the story.

So, its now a rolling frame. lol
No wiring, no Fuel lines, no Fuel tanks, nothing. Frame, and axles.

Going to try and get the frame down to bare this week, and off to sandblast.

The only brackets that need replaced are the core support mounts, and the rear leaf spring front and rear hangers.

THEN, I can start assembly!

The whole interior. And the frame. The cab and bed are saveable. But I have southern items for that. I sold the engine and transmission thankfully

More of a reassurance then chat and kinda question. Got both valve covers off and replacing UVC harness/gasket and glow plug.

Question: Torque spec on glow plugs 124in lbs correct?
124in lbs coverted to foot lbs is 10.3 ftlbs. I only got a ftlbs TW. Anyone else wanna put their 2 cents in if not sound right. I checked twice on 2 different calculators.

I still got to solder in the engine side pig tales 2 where melted. So I'll check back before buttoning everything up.

Thanks

What's the plan? doing a frame up with 05+ axle swap, or keeping stock?

Either 10 or 11 ft-lb should be fine. I did a set a couple months ago at 11 ft-lb. I'd bet a lot of guys out there don't even bother using a torque wrench when they install glow plugs.

05+ swap for sure. But yeah. I'm blasting the frame this week or next. And starting all over

I already have the axles lol

I'm shocked you skipped the battery cable post bill lol

I usually do my glow plugs snug with a 1/4" ratchet
