Anyone ever put LEDs in their dome lights? CCLB, dome light for door and the switched map lights in the same housing, looking for the right bulbs?

If you have a newer style, I believe its a 37mm Festoon style for the dome...

Pull it out, and measure it from tip to tip to get the size. I can't remember it off hand.

The door uses a t10? 194 style base.

I've used 42mm LED festoon lamps on the dome lights.

The new lamps seem to fit loose, squeeze the clips on the lampholder a bit with pliers to get a snug fit before installing the new lamp.

I didn't want to go out in the cold and check last night but I did. The door bulbs were 168s, pretty much a 194 so thats covered. I figured out that the dome lights will be ok with 44 mm a 42 should work too.

You do have to pinch the contacts together. I had to do this on my 6.4 too.

I've got white ones in the 6.4 they are pretty awesome with the black interior. I ordered blue for my OBS. I think it might look cool with the pimpin blue interior. Im going to put the blue ones in the doors and dome lights. I might leave the old bulbs in the map lights so you can actually use them to read something at night. The blue will just turn on with the door opening or manually turning the dome on.

^^^ I do. Been -40* on and off here for the last couple weeks with a wicked two day snow storm to kick it all off three weeks ago.

You getting any of this Bill?

Thursday morning was the coldest day yet, went to start my truck and the clutch stayed on the floor. Looks like the slave is leaking. Drove to town without a clutch (interesting on ice and snow), topped it up, pumped for about 40 minutes and is working again. Looks like a clutch master/slave is in my future. I hate messing with those stupid things

Oh and Facebook is what is wrong with the world.

Not -40F here but Friday morning it was 8F, and last night it was 60F and thunder-storming. This morning it is freezing rain.

Working on stuff in the cold is the worst. Like figuring out whats wrong with your clutch haha.

Id say that Facebook makes whats wrong with the world more prevalent....

I didn't even bother starting my truck the past couple days.

But the 96 got a new starter power wire, and driveshaft in the rear....

That 460 is much happier to start now.

I complain about winter here in PA but it never gets that cold. The worst it was around here was two years ago and I was in SE Ohio working, 6 straight days of -18F in the morning at the office trailer. Still not what you have up there

The constant snow, rain, snow, BS, salt everywhere, etc. sucks though
