7.3 regulated fuel supply

So the 6.0 powerstrokes have a regulated fuel supply and not a regulated return. I know our Trucks need a regulated return but what would happen if you also put a regulator to the supply lines? Would it run better, or worse? Would it just screw stuff up? I'm building my own efuel system and have an option of having the supply lines being regulated to about 45psi instead of about 6psi (isn't it?) to the heads.

We have a 2 stage mechanical pump. One side sucks from the tank and the other side compresses to the heads.

You need the pump mounted closest to the tank and your regulator in the valley set to 55-60psi with the return line going back to the tank.
