Replacement torque converter

Truck is making a grinding sound in the transmission in every gear except for neutral. This leads me to believe the TC is on its way out. Any suggestions for a replacement? I do very little towing and the truck is more of a daily driver. Thanks.

I'm not smart enough on TCs to recommend one (maybe a Precision???). @[email protected]
Have you checked the flexplate for cracking? Cheers!

How about a transmission rebuilder? I'm thinking that if the TC is making noise there's a chance that debris has now contaminated the tranny.

There are all kinds of transmission builders it's just how much are you willing to spend and what upgrades if any do you want. Not everyone wants or needs to spend $4000 on a high performance transmission. I had my trans rebuilt with several upgrades by a shop in Mesa Az several years ago for about $2200 and it is still working great. Last January we installed a transmission from Monster Transmissions out of Florida in my sons truck for under $2000 with some upgrades and other than we think it shifts a little soft 2-3 and 3-4 it is working great. I wouldn't consider taking it to a shop like Aamco because unless they have changed their ways in the last few years they will rebuild it exactly like it came from the factory without doing any of the necessary upgrades.

Better hope you never have a warranty issue with Monster. There is a even a dedicated website to all the people that have been screwed over.
