I’m in San Antonio and my truck has developed an issue. Starts and runs fine. After about 15 minutes it lossss power and the tach bounces around. Than it does. Won’t restart right away. Let sit a couple of minutes and it starts right up and runs fine. Been getting worse over the last week. Now I’m stuck. My only vehicle. Need help. 220-800-3547
Try changing the cam position sensor- located on the front of the engine- 10 mm wrench- get a genuine ford or international sensor.
Other cause may be clogged exhaust back pressure sensor also located on the front of the motor, it has a tube going down to the passenger side exhaust manifold, if the tube or sensor becomes clogged with soot it can cause drive ability issues. Sensor can be carefully cleaned and re used. Tube can be reamed out with a stiff piece of wire or coathanger.
Most 7.3 owners have a spare in the glove box
If you’re really in a bind ask someone with a 7.3
