well i know what you are saying but i have talked to many mecanhics at dealerships that will honnestly tell you that they have seen 400 and 500k miles plus and still kickin

FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN THE 7.3L IS THE BEST FOR LONGEVITY, & DEPENDABILITY THERE'S ALOT OF ROLLBACKS AND OTHER TRUCKS THAT HAVE OVER 300,000 MILES AND STILL GOING STRONG.GOOD LUCK AT WHATEVER YOU BUY
