1994 F250 7.3 No Turbo

I have inherited my dads 1994 F250 7.3 Navistar NO TURBO pickup. Has the automatic overdrive trans and 4:10 gears. He ordered it new. I am flying to go get it and drive it 2000 miles back. I have driven it several times over the years and it pulls good. He and my mom pulled a long heavy tag camper many times through the mountains that weighed 9800 pounds on the scale when it was loaded(the camper was loaded not the driver).

Figured it's an IDI and not a Powerstroke, but these guys can get a lot more answers here than in the IDI section.

He always referred to it as a Navistar. I will be flying out on the 9th of February and will take and post fotos when I get it back here.

from what I hear the E4OD is temperamental in the IDI's
a ZF5 was my choice.

2001 F350 CCC SB DRW
1998 E350 7.3 clubwagoon
94 F25Bronco
87 F350 6door 94 7.3 IDIT moose motivated ZF5
63 MANchero 97 7.3 on a 89 F350 frame
1945M-37 IDI/ZF5 2WD
1941 1/2 ton pick up in the planning stages
many gassers, irrelevant here

A 94 with an auto would be an IDI

A 94 powerstroke would only have a ZF5

No powerstroke and auto combo till 95 model year

E4ODs are not great in stock form. Even at stock power levels they wear out kinda quick, and towing would accelerate that, especially without any type of aftermarket cooling. Heat is not your friend.

As far as it "holding up," that depends on many things, especially how it taken care previously, or abused, or maintained, etc.
