I would bet it is a NOx sensor. That is exactly what happened on mine.

Luckily I know Ford techs and a dealer that deleted my DPF for me!

That would be nice!! I would do it in a heartbeat, if that were the case!

Supposedly there was a TSB for the exact problem my truck had. Took a 200 mile trip yesterday, and it ran flawless.

Not that the error message you had is common, but I know a few folks around here that have gotten it, mine included. They replaced my def injector to fix mine. This all happened with about 642 miles on the truck. Since the repairs it has been wonderful.

Yep, fixed so far. They reflashed the computer, said it was a glitch in the original programming, time will tell!

i just had this message happen to my truck yesterday, it had 589 miles on it.... like others, i tried to fill the def tank, and yep, it only took about a gallon and a half... and the dealer is 100 miles away.. so i got under the truck, jiggled the def tank a little.. noticed it had a very small breather on the top of the tank.. flicked it, twisted it... jiggled the wires on top of the tank... then i got in the truck, limited the tranny to forth and did 60 for a couple of miles... thinking that the increased egt's may help clean out the dpf.... and baddha bing, baddha boom, engine light goes off, no more warning chime.. all good!!!! dunno what fixed it, the screwing with the tank, or the egt's, but it went away... for now...... fyi

While driving last night I received this message on my 2012 F250. F250 is five weeks old with 1,700 miles. Vehicle report states DEF Fluid is OK. Have not gotten any DEF warning messages pertaining to low DEF volume. This morning I had to drive my dependable 2003 Excursion as I left the $55,000 new F250 in the driveway. Not happy.

Called the service manager this afternoon and explained the problem. His reply was “Oh Lordy”. Too funny. Hope it’s not a big problem. They gave me a rental car so that’s a nice response. I’ll report problem, repair, & status as I appreciate others have done.

How are you guys all getting rentals when your new $60k truck is in the shop. My dealers say 'NO'.
