Air bumps

Not sure if this is the right area but Im looking for some thoughts. Im going to try and mount some king compact air bumps on my 216 F-250 to round out my Carli suspension and Im thinking about notching out the front oem mounting location and welding in the sleeve in that location. It seems like that area is rather strong with the engine cross member and coil bucket right there and just wondering if going about it that way would be a good or bad idea.

Pictures of the area
