My last oil change I used Moible 1 Turbo diesel 5w-40

Well, hopefully I did not cause any damage to my 2014 F 250 6.7 engine... I changed my oil recently putting Mobile 1 Turbo diesel 5w-40 before checking Fords WSS-M2C171-F1 specification sheet. I guess I would like your suggestions/thoughts if Mobile 1 5w-40 will cause any damage to my engine? I like Mobile 1 and have used it in my other vehicles but I did not do my homework and now I know it does not meet Fords WSS-M2C171-F1 specification....

Appreciate your thoughts.

I'd say just change it to an approved oil of the appropriate weight. unless you've put like 100K miles on multiple changes of the non-approved stuff, its not going to do any damage.

CJ-4 is low ZDDP (Zinc) so isn't as good anti-wear as older oils, fords spec attempts to address this.

Ford's oil spec and approved list ONLY applies to using CK4 oils. CJ4 oils are always good to go. Mobil 1 bottles labeled as CJ4 are good to go, bottles labeled as CK4 need to be found on the list to be "approved".

Pretty sure you meant to say CK4.

I'm sure most have found this search tool page that makes it easier than looking thru the PDF list for approved oils.
Search Diesel Motor Oils Meeting WSS-M2C171-F1 https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubrican...archdiesel.asp

Makes it nice because you can fill-in any 1 of the 3 boxes and it will sort the approved list that way.

Even if the oil wasn't CJ-4, it's the proper viscosity and good, quality oil and running it until the next oil change isn't going to cause issues. On the next change use a CJ-4 or an oil from the approved list and don't look into any further and definitely don't worry about it.
