Help, I Want my turbo noise back!

Hi, first time poster! I have a 2011 6.7 and just had to upgrade to a 2015 turbo. Egr delete is done as well as dpf. Mini Maxx tuner and 6” exhaust. Apparently the 2011 turbos had an issue and so that’s why it was swapped. (Started sounding like an old fan when it was turning off. Tank was dropped and cleaned as well as the high pressure pump screen checked no metal was found floating around.) When I bought this truck the growl and scream it had was fantastic. With my new turbo now it’s insanely quiet and I would like to know how I get that old rick flair noise back. It still kind of has it but not even close to what it was. I know pretty much nothing about these but I would like to learn more, I upgraded from my 7.3 last year and it’s used for hauling hay and my horses as well as my daily driver. Any help or insight as to how to modify this turbo withought buying a whole new one and to get it sounding like it did would be great! Pretty boring quiet drive these days. I’ll upload a short clip of what I have for the way it used to sound. Thanks for any help! Just doesn’t feel like my truck anymore..

That's what happens when you go away from the waste gate style turbo. Unless you want to go back to a 11-14 turbo that's the way it will stay.

As stated above, thatís what you get when you upgrade, yes the 11-14s have a different sound but are also not as reliable so just chock it up as a upgrade and move on its for the better of your truck and wallet to upgrade like you did.

Thanks guys! So there’s nothing I can do pretty much? I read about taking the silencer ring off. But I can’t find any videos that aren’t a Cummins and they don’t sound the same. Would that help at all? Obviously I don’t want to do that if it’s going to hurt the turbo though.
I don’t know if anyone else hears it with the 2015 turbo but there’s and irritating carnival woooop sound slightly under the whistle. What is that!? Ok upload a video in a bit. The only sound I can here in the cab at low speeds and it’s nearly comical. Can I modify this thing at all to get a better sound?
Although if I’m stuck with it can anyone tell me the benefits of this turbo? Can it improve fuel economy at all? This trucks pretty decent usually sits around 14 litres per 100k but who doesn’t like improvement.

I'll trade you straight across for my 2013 setup if you cover the labor for the swap

I'd ditch that Mini Maxx and get a tuner that can accommodate the '15 turbo, you're not even close to its full potential on that dinosaur.

Thanks Turd Furgeson but no more labour costs for this girl! Appreciate the offer though. I’m just going to figure out what I can do with what I have. I understand it IS a better turbo I feel it would be dumb of me to actually put the old one back on. What kind of tuner would you recommend Jman37? The shop didn’t say anything about my tune but I understand mini Maxx isn’t the greatest. What can I do to improve but also keep my towing capability and function ability?

Use Google to find vendors, the information is out there, but something that won't totally break the bank is an SCT X4 with custom tunes.
