Need better tuner in Texas

I took my 2015 F-250 to get tuned after I did the straight pipe DEF delete. Truck has 60,000 miles. In another post, guy has the same problem; no power below about 1800 rpm, but as soon as it hits 2000 rpm, bam! It is literally jerking the tires loose when the turbo hits. Took it back to the tuner here (small town), he said nothing is wrong "it's supposed to be like that". Looking for a better tuner here in Texas that can even out the power curve on this engine.

Live in Lubbock, but drive to Houston about once a month. So I can hit just about everywhere in TX except for the valley or El Paso (which I also frequent, just not monthly).

pass through San Antonio and go to TSD, is your truck setup through EFIlive or another means?

Is it supposed to be? After the tune, the truck did drive pretty well, but I was towing a lot then and driving in the mountains, so I may not have noticed. Now I'm flat-landing it, and not towing, so it may be new, it may be that I didn't notice before.

Yeah. It's the one the cold side intercollegiate pipe connects too.

Guessing you would have had issues towing though..

Pretty common complaint. 15+ trucks are like this. The turbo is a lot bigger than the 11-14 trucks and to compensate the converter is 200 rpm looser. However, when tuned, the converter locks in 3rd gear instead of 5-6th gear so it’s much more noticeable.

How many miles have you driven the truck tuned?

Hellback is referring to the butterfly valve.. when I see these cause issues the truck will surge or buck really hard. Definitely unplug it, or just get yourself an h&s pipe.
Our shop is just south of Fort Worth, but like already stated below.. TSD is the only one local who can tune the truck on the spot. Although, I think you may find it’s going to be that for the most part, everyone’s tunes run about the same.
