Wrap vs PTM grill and bumper.

Wanting to have my chrome grill and front bumper wrapped to match my paint. Anyone done the same? Longevity? Are bugs hard to get off the vinyl material?

I spoke to a fellow that does vehicle wraps. Claimed his products would last at least 3 years, maybe longer.

If you search Craigslist hard enough you may find pull offs cheap. Then at least you have your original "spares" if needed.
Here's what I say is the breakdown:
Wraps should be easier, cheaper and could be just as durable as paint in the short run. You can get "pretty close" to stock paint. Just keep it clean and avoid the auto car washes.
Painting is MUCH more labor intensive, and could cost a bit more. Matching stock paint shouldn't be an issue. Long run durability is going to crush a wrapped product, just keep it healthy.

Wrapped my grille because its waaay cheaper than painting.

Its chipping and shows wear but from 4' away you cant tell. I think youll be happy.

I justified it saying if i paint the grille and bumper, ill have to wrap it in clear 3M anyway or itll chip and flake. Might as well just wrap it off the hop.
