The 4200 NEX does have glare. I contemplated making at sunshade out of some Kydex but haven't tried that yet. Its not bad enough most of the time that it bothers me too much. Kinda dealing with it.

Well, I'm returning the Kenwood and we will give a pioneer 2440nex a try.

I was able to get the mirror backup camera working on the kenwood so hopefully that should carry over to the pioneer.

So I swapped out the Kenwood to a pioneer avh2440nex. The pioneer is a way better unit. Brighter and shows less finger prints. For me the layout and function is better as well. I'm still trying to figure out what is the best way of installing it, ie with or without sync.

I ditched sync. Don't miss it at all. The NEX takes care of all of my hands free needs.

If you use sync you wonít be able to do Apple CarPlay or android auto as those will both require you use the dedicated usb cables to the NEX unit. With that said, that gave me my answer there and sync for me was not used.

I installed a dual USB in place of the 12 volt outlet on the driver's side. That plugs into the rear of the NEX. Top one is for iPhone bottom for android. The sync port is still hot and my wife uses it to charge her phone.

I just bought a truck with the higher end Pioneer NEX system already installed, I cant answer many of your questions, but my system has the GPS and all the apple/android connectivity. I have a 04 CCSB and it was nice having some of those features we are used to in newer model vehicles. The unit is easy to use, navigate and customize. If you have any specific questions...give me a shout.

you sure the antenna stayed plugged in when crammed back in and that it has the proper adapter if applicable?

I had to use a 90* adapter on mine
