Power Folding Mirror Upgrade

Not sure if this is the correct area to post this or not.

My father purchased a 2015 F350 XLT without power folding mirrors. The current mirrors are heated, lighted, and power adjust.

How difficult would it be to upgrade these mirrors to power folding (not necessarily power telescoping), and what would be required to perform this upgrade. I've seen other people do it with 08 mirrors on their 05's but not necessarily the newer trucks.

Lot would depend on if you have the wires in the door on each side. Maybe these wiring diagrams will help. Plus the cost of the mirrors from Ford might be over $750 each.

Price of the power folding/extending mirrors is $1500 from Ford. I know I had to replace my passenger side mirror on my 09.

I can get normal power fold mirrors from the junkyard for about $300, however the wiring harness was already stripped out. How many modifications would be required for this?

You need to check the truck to see if the wiring is already there. In some cases the wiring may exist and all you have to do is plug in the mirrors and switches. If the wires are there, you can check to see if you have voltage on them. Might need to make sure any fuses are installed also.

No, I have not done this swap. In many cases it is cheaper for Ford to build one wiring harness with extra wires for the xl/xlt trucks than stock multiple harness awaiting specific truck orders.

Check this thread on another forum. It might help you.

1A Auto offers some too but I dont know if anyone has installed them. The folding switch is a toyota looking switch. Requires Extensive wiring and their video shows you tucking wires under doorframe rubber. I'm on the fence about this VS buying OEM.

Any thoughts on the power folding mirrors on EBAY? They seem to range from 115$ for one to 150$ for two. Also from a top rated seller.

I have a new account because I could not access my old one. I got a new email address and after repeated attempts to contact you to try to change were ignored I had to open a new account. If you want to ban me feel free, I was just trying to ask a legitimate question as I have a mirror that isn't working. My old user name was dbackerjim. Look it up.

As for the ban, think about the scenario... then I'll PM you about the attitude and fixing the account
