pairing keypad

Hey guys I bought the oem keypad entry pad to mount on my driver's side door.

The instructions tell me how to enter my own passcode, but not how to pair the keypad to my truck. does anyone know how to do this?

I'm starting to suspect this might have to be done by the dealer with the IDS software?

If it does have to be done at the dealer, if they hook up the IDS, can they do things like this without flashing my pcm? My truck is deleted and I can't have them screwing that up

Should be able to do it just like you'd pair a second (or third) remote key fob. Google the sequence for that and try it out

Edit: here are the steps

1. Close all doors, then open your driver side door and press the Unlock button on the drivers door while it is open.

2. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. The door locks will lock and unlock to confirm that you have entered programming mode(Off is the position where you can remove your key, RUN is the position just shy of starting your car. If the door locks do not cycle you should try it again but faster. If they still do not cycle, your vehicle may not have keyless entry)

3. Within 8 seconds press any button on the first keyless remote to be programmed. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. If you only have one remote then skip to step 5.

4. Within 8 seconds, press any button on the second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to confirm programming. Repeat step 4. for all other remotes.

5. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

Did you get the OEM keypad (drilling required) or the Ford Accessories one (stick on)?

After you enter the programming modes with the 8 key cycles, too program the keypad to the truck, you need to press 7/8 and 9/0 buttons to get the truck to recognize the keypad. these two buttons are the lock all doors buttons and it is easier to program the pad prior to mounting it.
