H&S tuner problem

Yesterday I purchased an F450 with a 6.4. It has an H&S tuner in the center console, so I hooked it back up and put the stock tune on it. Every time I shutdown the truck, I need to reinstall the stock tune for the truck to start. The truck will not start with an H&S tune, only the stock tune and only after a fresh retune!

I found the problem. I was installing the tune with the EGR still on the vehicle. When I put the tune in with the EGR removed, it took the Tune and starts fine now! I will report back if I run into any more problems. Thanks

Just a heads up. Once you pull everything and flash the system for the first time - you’ll likely get the red wrench indicating a problem.

This should occur BEFORE starting engine. Key on engine off. If memory serves me correctly.

I had this issue - and asked for help here in the forum. Thankfully a quick reply stating to install the hot tune solved the issue. About 15k since that time and no issues. Well a water pump but I think that’s unrelated.

Search my posts if you encounter this for exact details. I went through this a year or so ago
