EBP

Help with this one my goodness .. 2005 6.0 super duty
First of all this happen recently and I’m still head scratching .

Anyway was pulling a camper for friend then when I finished everything fine .
Park truck then 3 days later hop in my fav diesel pusher, and he does great until I’m heading back to my house that when a couple things went racy
The truck acted like the brakes were on and not wanting to coast then I heard a small pop .
So here we go ..
Diesel gauge to scan all parameters ..
EBP 14.7
Map 14.7
Vgt. 45-85
ICP. 580
The turbo will kick in then dump then build up again ..
bought new EBP sensor and cleaned down tubes ..
installed only to receive same reading .
Unplug sensor it goes to 6.0 .. wth
Plug back in goes back to 14.3..
And the turbo whines when I depress the excelerator pedal.. never done this before and it bellows white smoke while the turbo tries to build boost ..

Koeo key on engine off EBP it’s 14.3 koeo Key on engine on it will rise a few but will drop when I press the fuel pedal ..
any suggestions ?
Signed
my truck sickly

Check all you CAC boots and make sure nothing has popped off or any of your boots have a hole. If you have the plastic cold side CAC pipe on the driver's side, look at that one very closely! You can also disconnect your downpipe and see if there's oil in it (indicative of a blown turbo seal).

Edited: What does your smoke smell like? Oil, fuel, coolant?

White smite can’t tell the smell ..
I will purchase new boots today since I’m sure the old boot has popped off in the past.. doing simple things first before the big problem hits me 🙂
Thanks for the advise

The 85% VGT can be the turbo veins sticking. The normal thing you may see for that is a loss of power, not all the other symptoms. If it is veins sticking, its pulling it, popping it apart, cleaning the veins, putting it together, and installing. Doable at the house.
