Oil leak?

So I had a really bad oil leak and was told it was my rear main seal and so I took it to a mechanic and he ended up saying it was my ICP so I got that fixed. Not sure if Oil can leak from a bad ICP and although it’s not leaking near as bad now I notice that it’s still leaking a few drops still. So I’m just curious if maybe it is the rear main seal or if this is normal? Please anything would help, thank you!

The ICP sensor can leak pretty good, either through the failed o-ring, the sensor body or both. Unfortunately there are many other leak points on this engine, and if it's something in the engine valley (like the oil pressure switch) it can run down the back of the engine. Also, if it wasn't cleaned well it could be residual oil from the previous leak, you'll just have to scrub it down and start looking around. Mine also creates a slight anti-corrosion coating, part of the fun of owning an old diesel!

Would it be smart to just get it car washed for underneath?

Yeah, you'll need to clean it off to pinpoint the leak. I've heard of people spraying it down with de-greaser, then using the wand at the car wash to rinse it off from underneath. I get a little paranoid about electrical connections so I use some cleaner and wipe whatever I can reach by hand.
