MAP sensor nipple

03 ford excursion w/ 6.0L Turbo is not engaging I check the MAP and the hose is attached to map sensor, but the other end is hanging free with the clamp still attached to what I assume is the nipple, I have never had to check the map sensor before so I am not sure if this is something that can just be easily pulled out of the manifold.e. There is a corresponding hole in the manifold that I can put it back into, but it can just be pulled loose without much effort, I am worried that the nipple broke free of the manifold as it would seem weird that this part would be so loose unless a vacuum is supposed to hold it to the manifold. Also what little I can find indicates the nipple is extruded from the manifold and not a separate part.

So, it's the smaller of the two nipples on the left/rear in this pic. How much of it is left on the intake? Did the hex portion really come off with it? I'd like to see a pic of what you have going on.

...and please forgive how dirty my engine is in the pic...

Are there any threads left in the manifold, that nipple is supposed to be threaded and it screws into the intake

That is definitely missing. You wouldn't happen to have a part number/link to buy one of those?

We need that third photo in focus. You can buy a replacement nipple, but the issue - IMHO - is how much hoopjumping you are going to have to do to get what's still in there out.

If you still have the hex portion on the nipple portion in the intake, you will be able to remove it with the appropriate wrench. If not, I would probably heat up the surrounding area and go after it with an EZout.

@fordsvtparts can help you with the replacement nipple.

The Ford number is a 3C3Z-9A474-AA but unfortunately it's an obsolete number now
There a few of them at dealerships around the country

Thank you for all the help. I ordered the part from A ford dealer 2 states over, wasn't even that expensive, but there is no hex or threading on it it just looks like a free nipple, the package says connector . Thanks so much on the help so far on this, I'm thinking I may need to start calling local junkyards to see which has any of the 6.0L, then I can just snag the part myself.
