2003 6.0l regen frequency.

I've read that the vgt regeneration is about 150 to 200 miles for a rough interval or once per tank of gas depending on driving. I had mine do a relearn because I noticed it was doing it way to frequently. I warmed the truck up,let it idle for 10 min and checked the duty cycle and it was steady at 69%. I drove to work this morning and it started a regen again at 28 miles. Any ideas what could cause it to cycle so often?

Up until now, I considered myself slightly knowledgable about 6.0s. ...and my only response to this is "can I buy a vowel?"

So... just ignore my post. I clearly can't be of any help to you. I'm just in this one to subscribe and hopefully learn from the other responses.

I wasn't trying to start anythng. TBH, my first thought was that I missed something along the way. A big something.

I am 100% positive that the OP has an issue that we can help with if we can work out the lingo. ...and I'm sure that we can work out the lingo, too.

i would say maybe hes got a EBP sensor issue and thats causing his turbo to just do wacky things like placing the desired duty cycle way above normal. but even then hes got a 03. IIRC the 03 and 04s dont even use the EBP sensor for really anything anyway

The only thing I can think is maybe I didnt complete the cycle right. Like it runs the cycle 6 times, then holds steady. I didnt drive it until the following morning. Should that have been done right after?

Or is the frequent 15-85% normal. This is my first diesel and dont know anybody with one to relate to. I've dumped a sheet ton of $ in repairs only to end up fixing the issues myself after mechanics couldn't and spending alot of time scouring forums looking for answers. This explains why I couldn't find any for 03 regen. I thought that was just the terminology.
