I have a late 04 6.0 that has a bad habit of dying while driving. Sometimes it surges but other times it just shuts off like the key was turned off. I have replaced all kinds of parts and am at a lost. Been doing this for about 5 months now so some help would be really appreciated. The truck does have an EGR delete so that is not a problem. When it does die I can put it in neutral and crank it and it will start before I come to a stop.

Parts replaced:
- ICP
- IPR
- HPOP
- FICM
- FICM Harness

Codes: the codes DO NOT appear every time it dies
- P0603 - KAM
One time these codes came up
- Glow plug 1,3,5,7 open circuit.

Notes: I did bring it to a shop where they swapped a whole bank of injectors and no difference (they gave up and didn't charge me). Also sometimes it runs fine. before it started acting up today it was driven to town 15 minutes then to multiple stores then it sat for hours and almost made it back home after work. IT STARTS EVERY TIME

This is my first post so I apologize if it is in the wrong place or if there is already a thread similar to this.

The 1357 is the passenger side, so I'd check wiring there for fraying and other signs of damage. That is solely based off the glow plug code. I also recommend downloading the 6.0 good reading n my signature block and it has some wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and other good info. If you can't read my signature block because not enough posts, google 6.0 bible pdf. I'd also trace the CAM sensor as best you can. A bad cam sensor will make it die, but not a good idea to throw that part at it.

I'm going to check the CAM tomorrow. I've also read to check the crank position sensor pigtail for chafing so I'll do that also.

I 2nd checking for chafing wires. Sounds like something shorting out. Have you tried wiggling wires to try n get it to stall out. Are the ficm plugs seated tight with the clips

KAM is not CAM. Leave the sensor alone.

It's more likely chafing, a connector, or the PCM.

Edited to add...

To help things along - if I had an intermittent KAM code and had not run knowingly run my battery down, I'd first check my battery connections. If good, I'd then monitor system voltage while driving to see if I had a spurious voltage drops due to a loose plate.

Sorry guys, this isn't pertinent to the thread.

The two dollar bills in the pic have the same serial number. That means one of them is counterfeit. Does that mean there's only 1 sex?
