be careful clocking those clamps like that, you could end up with a dent in the hood.

thanks. i did check it and have driven the truck since i installed the hoses. so far so good but i will double check.

i also installed a new Ford thermostat since my coolant temps would fluctuate from 200 down to 160 on the highway.

my deltas are much better now. last week on a road trip, they tended to stay at about 9-15 degrees. after the backflush, it has gotten down to 4-10 degrees.

I really need to get around to doing this. Mine is sitting in the box still. I wanted to tackle this when I was replacing my radiator and doing my flushes...so I could do the back-flush and mount this...but time was against me.

Now that I've been doing some serious pulling I got the wrench light from my Deltas getting too high and I'd like to try the back-flush / filter before I jump straight into the Oil Cooler.

I see you have a BPD remote mounted stock oil cooler. Where is the feed and return from your IPR filter Plummed to?

Ok in your signature you don't mention a ported manifold but I am guessing you welded up your EGR water outlet and that is why you go back to the degas instead of back to the EGR or EGR delete.

Or is there another reason?

How long have you been running the IPR filter in line to the BPD remote. It seems with the new gen IPR if it started clogging and the oil temp delta rose you could just flip the bypass to get home and clean it, correct?

Freeze plug/casting plug in the front cover and a simple plate/gasket over the EGR cooler hole. I think I plugged the other coolant hole in the intake too, but can't remember exactly how right now. Maybe I didn't?

The setup has about 50k on it now, but my son adds about 140 miles a day to that since it's his truck now.

Yes, the latest IPR filter allows you to bypass the filter in case it's needed, but the main reason I upgraded to it over the original one was to simply be able to close the valves for cleaning without needing to drain the coolant down a little.

well I just ordered my new updated kit, external cooler and new coolant filter. Tons of info on this thread. Are they still performing like they should or are there other problems I need to address.
