How much did you spend for it?

OP, I spent about a year looking for the right Ex. Finally, found a clean '04 Limited with 150K on the clock and I spent 10K. I didn't need 4wd, so that helped out on the price. I would definitely snatch it if you are having trouble finding them. The miles are so low, you could drive it for another 10 years, keep clean, make the mods, and resell at even or maybe ahead (they are still so desirable, as you see).

you could do all that and still have issues

I prefer the optimistic option!

$8700. Everything works, power windows, cruise control, power seats, all gouges and 4x4 works. Even has a tv. Bought the Edge evolution programmer for monitoring. Biggest coolant and oil temp delta has been 7* and its been hot and humid in Va. A/c could be a little cooler. Just had my driveway paved is the reason for the plywood.

That doesn't sound like a bad price for that condition to me. I paid $24,00 for a near perfect 05 with 80k miles. It did have a a new from ford short block and a lot of extras but with low miles and the condition you described probably worth it.
