Removing a cab from a diesel is relatively easy. Gasser not sure but shouldnt be that tough. What you are trying to do is a little more difficult as you will have to transfer harnesses, gauge clusters etc.

interesting

i don't have a definitive answer but it got me thinking

i wonder if the front core supports would need changed?

the electronics like pcm ,abs ,cluster , harnesses and all that would need swapped and the gas probably uses vacuum brakes so all that swaps over, battery trays vacuum pump, ESOF valve

and you would be tempted to pull the windshields and do illegal vin swaps

(i think there is one on the core area also?) but if the cab is actually that much nicer than your i would be tempted also

sounds like He is almost giving you that truck

I have zero experience but a guy i know is a mechanic and he said he can have a cab lifted off in 45 minuets, but, even if you know absolutely nothing, even if it takes 2 hours you can now do up pipes, or any job while its off. then, swap your PCM, and more than likely your gauge cluster/dash, then that should be it...
I'd go for it
