05 6.0 speedometer

So just recently the speedo on my truck has periodically started half *** working, It will go up to 50kmh slowly even if I'm doing 100kmh. But then other days it will work accurately. Any ideas? I have a livewire ts chip in it.

Thanks.

if im remembering correctly the rear speed sensor called a VSS or something is on the rear dif. Look at it and check the wire and wire clip connection. They do fail sometimes.

Also from research shows it was a common problem with 05 trucks and required the cluster to be replaced in some cases.

Yeah the rear abs sensor has been shot since I bought the truck over 2 years now. I replaced both the front ones awhile ago. So I guess gauge cluster?

You need 2 out of 3 in order for the speedo to work. I broke both the front ones when I replaced my balljoins and the speedo did not work until I replaced both of the front ones. The rear one has been cut for 2 years and the speedo works without it.
