Stop me if you've heard this before

Thank you for having me. I'm diesel dumb, but have picked up a lot of helpful information on here. 2006 F-250 Lariat crew cab 4x4 6.blow.

Blew head gasket back in June. A retired Ford tech did the repair.

Studded, deleted, updated oil cooler, 8 injectors, standpipes, dummy plugs, new turbo (Garrett), thermostat, water pump, fan clutch and blue spring.

Cyl 3 contribution code popped up after 1 week. Replaced the injector.

A week later, Cyl 8 cont code. Replaced the injector.

Then had Cyl 2 cont code with Cyl 2 & Cyl 8 low voltage. Replaced the FICM (Circuit Board Medics).

Drove it 1 day and got Cyl 1 cont code. Replaced the injector. This 1 had physical damage. Rod for the spool valve was partially out. Also FICM was showing 47v.

Got Cyl 1 cont immediately upon starting. CBM sent out a replacement FICM immediately. Just put it in. Within a mile, Cyl 1 cont code again. FICM at 48v.

I'm at a loss and extremely frustrated. I've got $7500 tied up into this engine and it's been mostly sitting for 5 months.

What am I missing? Thank you for any advice you can offer. And thank you again for having me.

Check the 3 ficm wire connectors under the ficm. not uncommon to have the clips break or not get them fully seated causing all sorts of injector codes.

Something else to think about is fuel pressure. Low fuel pressure can ruin injectors. 3500 PSI can fire on an empty injector that should have fuel.

I see you got a blue spring done, but nothing beats seeing fuel pressure under different conditions/ KOEO, KOER, half throttle and WOT. They need to stay above 45 PSI at all times. When I turn my key on and my Edge CTS powers up, I have 52 PSI before cranking. The fuel pump gets it up quick. The fuel PSI gauge caught a clogged filter as a result of bad diesel that I caught when fuel PSI dropped to 35 PSI at half throttle.

The truck has no way of measuring fuel pressure unless you install a gauge yourself.

Just to echo in here -- there are three things that an owner can do, that are very beneficial for these trucks

1. Get a monitoring system -- there are several choices, each with their own benefits
2. Gauge for base engine oil pressure -- this is the lifeblood of the engine
3. Gauge for fuel pressure -- low fuel pressure will damage the injectors

There are others that could be added as well, but these are the basic ones that should be added first
there are analog as well as digital choices in sensors and gauges
whatever best suits the owners situation

In my defense, I was unsupervised

General note:
For all those wanting a premium silicone sealer Kubota 70000-73764 is the best your gonna find. This is a hybrid gray silicone that uses solvent rather than acid to start the curing reaction, this makes it safe for aluminum and and any surface that involves coolant.

Sorry for the late reply; we went out of town for a couple weeks.

Just got back from a trip to watch fuel pressure.
I'm at 75psi KOEO. Goes up to 80 when rolling. Once the temp got to around 100 it started missing on #1. Fuel pressure would fluctuate between 75 and 80.

On Torque Pro:
Engine Oil Pressure runs around 45
HPOP at idle around 1100psi cold start. Around 600psi warm.

Weather permitting tomorrow, I'm going to swap #1 and 3 injectors to see if the miss follows the injector.

The only way to check engine oil pressure is with a gauge, the reading you are looking at is "faked"

The system uses a switch(7psi) and swings the "gauge" to half way or none

How are you checking fuel pressure? Actually seems higher than normal.

Stock fuel pump?

Makes no sense that the fuel pressure goes up as your driving. Should go down when you get in the throttle.
