oil pressure

I have a 2006 6.0 which lately takes three times as long to start and when it finally does I get no oil pressure for 3 to 5 seconds, i don't know if it is a problem or just what happens as the miles are put on it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the oil pressure regulator just behind the front crankshaft pulley and see if it is clean/free in the bore

Check the drain valve in the filter housing to see if it is closing properly -- a wrong filter/cap matchup will cause it to stay open

General note:
For all those wanting a premium silicone sealer Kubota 70000-73764 is the best your gonna find. This is a hybrid gray silicone that uses solvent rather than acid to start the curing reaction, this makes it safe for aluminum and and any surface that involves coolant.
