So I air tested the hpo system while hot. It turns out my gurgling sound on injector #5 turned into a full on pshhhhhhh leak.

Unfortunately the leak is not at the top seal found that out after replacing the seal.

It leak out of the top exhaust ports. Spool valve moves freely but seems that at its rest position it still cannot completely close of the top exhaust ports I can get it done if I remove the coils and move the spool with my fingers.

I also reconnected the ficm to have it cycle the injectors hoping it would close it self but it did not work.

I move the injectors to #1 to see if the leak would follow and it did.

This injector is part of 3 reman thats are on that bank #1,3 and 5

So I guess that means a new injector?

Anything else I can try?

That spool is turned the right direction? 180 out?

In my defense, I was unsupervised

General note:
For all those wanting a premium silicone sealer Kubota 70000-73764 is the best your gonna find. This is a hybrid gray silicone that uses solvent rather than acid to start the curing reaction, this makes it safe for aluminum and and any surface that involves coolant.

Made sure to put it back like shown on this thread.

https://www.powerstroke.org/forum/ge...351594?page=11

The widest part of the spool is the closest to the outside of the engine while the narrow part goes towards the valley of the engine

Went to a pick and pull got a ficm , ICP ,IPR
2 oil rails and 8 injectors from an 04.5

For 140$

Hopefully one of the 8 injector spool section is tight enough not to leak air .

Probably will take the spool part off the 04.5 and take the body off my #5

I'll see.

So i did just what i suggested in the post above for injector 1 and i also changed injector 2 with one that i brought back from the junk yard.
Went for a short drive but now it idles rough and it set a p0263 cyl1 one contribution code it tests fine electrically with forscan.

It now starts hot within 2 sec i leaks are somewhat gone also noticed that ipr is now below 24% fully warmed up to 23.8

Also made a 0 pressure cap from the one i replaced recently.

have to bring it back in garage for more play time or drive it more.

And i know i am most likely on borrowed time with the injectors but i want to address head gaskets more or less 2-3k$ before the injectors 2.5K$

I like "special" tools, got several myself, ..wedge a small piece of electrical tape between the tool and the wrench to keep the tool from falling out in a bad place.
