I just ordered my replacement obdII cable from 5 Star Tuning in South Carolina and it should be here Thursday so I can monitor my truck while trying to crank it. Maybe that way I can narrow it down and get to root of the problem.

these trucks take a looooooong time to fire after a head job. not yet convinced there is a problem. however, being a 6.0, don't debate at all the need for a monitor

The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.

Well my Livewire cable should be here this afternoon along with the long weekend coming up I'm hoping I can get it started. Putting the War Wagon in the shop didn't set right with me and I can assure you it won't happen again.

I'm no mechanic by a long shot but I actually enjoy working on my truck. If I ever opened a shop I would require all my techs to be members of Powerstroke.org there is an unbelievable amount of wisdom on here. I really appreciate all the help I get from my fellow members.

Okay so today is a whole new problem:

Got my new Livewire cable in and when I turn the key on the Livewire does nothing. It won't turn on. So said there is no way it's two bad cables so I checked fuse #12 cigar lighter/obdII 20amp fuse and it was good but I replaced it anyway for good measure and still the SCT won't boot on. I checked it on my computer and the SCT fires up.

Is there anything else that is connected to the OBDII that could cause it not to register or boot my SCT up? Has anyone else had this problem?

check pin 16 for battery power. check pin 4 for ground. if you're looking at the DLC, pin 1 is top left, pin 16 is bottom right. not only will this tell you if you have power and ground at the DLC, but will give you your battery state of charge as well

Could it be the tuner? It's working fine when I plug it into the computer with the USB cable.

Try reseating all of the PCM connections on the fender?

Do you have anything else to check on the OBD 2 port, like another scanner?

By resetting do you mean just pull the relays then reconnect them? No I don't have another device I can connect to the obdII port
