The short part of the story is this.......with the Nintendo DS people are able to "pictochat" within 30 feet of each other. This is a wireless connection that is not monitored by anyone where people can chat with each other. My biggest concern is for people living in apartments, condo's, townhouses, etc regarding sex offenders..........I was not aware of this feature until after we bought the ds so I hope this just arms more parents.....

How I found all this out is when we were in Idaho for Christmas my 10 year old daughter starting chatting with "cuty" or "Amber" while we were there. Amber was telling Jadi that she goes to her school, in the 4th grade, 9 years old and the teacher she had. She also started asking which cabin we were in, what lake, etc. I found out later that day that it was my niece messing with her. I was to the point I was willing to turn the damn thing over to police and have them check it out. It's quite a scary thought to think that this is another way for our children to become victims again.

Dang... I bought my daughter a DS a few months ago. She's 5. I never knew they could do that...

I didn't either. Totally scary huh?
