I was in my F-250 7.3 today about 6p.m. at big five sporting goods parking lot. I was listening to a country song about a girl who never met the man upstairs. This man walked up asked if i was a construction worker. I said no and he proceeds too tell me his wife is pregnant and he cant find a job. The man asked for a job. My family has a horse farm so I thought I could give him a job. I asked him his Phone number and he said it was shut off. He asked if I was going his way I said no,but gave him ten dollars all that I had since I am 16 and in High school which is my job. He said he had been looking for a job all day and I believed it he was cleaned and dressed nice ,but not real nice. He never asked for money just a job or a ride,but he implied it I think. He did say thanks brother. If I did get conned he is good so I guess he deserved it. My question is did I get conned,and what is your reaction when someone ask your for money like this.

Its hard to say, there are very good cons out there but the economy does suck so who's to say. This thread will probaly take off!

It's really hard evaluate people today to see if they are conning you or they really need help. Honestly I would never give people money but I will buy them a meal and something to drink. The meal may cost more than the couple of bucks you give them but at least you know it went to a good cause rather than drugs. I've been pan handled many times and I'll offer to buy those people a meal but all they want is the money so I just walk away without giving them a dollar.

depends on what kind of mood i am in to give them anything.... it is very hard to tell do you think you got conned the story sounds like you did the right thing.....

truly i dont tihnk it matters whether he was a con or not bcuz after all that you sitll did the righttihng what he did or didnt is his problem

It's happen to me before a couple of years ago when I was 17. First time someone ask me for money and I gave them a $5. Since then I've been sticking with the meal thing. The hardest ones are the people that ask you for gas money. But I got that figured out. Just tell them with payments and the outragus price of diesel you aren't able to hand out money. That happened to me last week.

I like to believe I did even if he conned me I guess it is his living. I feel good about it,but I did have the doors locked, and window only half-way down. I have heard to many stories. My first thought was he is coming over to tell me I have a sick-*** truck. I guess that is what I get for thinking. He did think my truck was a construction truck.

I disagree. If he gave him money and the guy went and bought drugs did the money go to the right cause?
