Deputy Slain

A Yolo County Deputy Sheriff was killed in the line of duty last Sunday night. His name was Tony Diaz, and he patrolled the area of Yolo County were the town of Dunnigan is, where I duck hunt.

It took a couple of days for me to realize why I kept thinking "that deputy looks familiar".
Well he worked the graveyard shift, and by the time we were done duck hunting he was getting off shift, and we ALWAYS ate our post duck hunt breakfast at the same little coffee shop, where he would also have breakfast. We got so we would talk with him, he would ask us about our morning hunts, and we even gave him quite a few ducks and geese. It's a shame that the dirt bag that killed him was out of prison.

Dunnigan is a rural farm town, in rural Yolo County. It's mostly rice and tomato fields so when the guy killed the deputy, there was no where for him to run. They caught him the next morning.

His services are this Friday.

R.I.P. Tony,, I hate reading or seeing this kinda of stuff. My family is all in law and my grandfather was killed in the line of duty in 1988 he was a State trooper. I feel for his family and friends. I hope they hang the man that did that by his balls until he dies..

That's a tragic story that sadly happens all too often. Let me guess, the scumbag that did this is a repeat offender who was out on parole. I'm with the hanging idea as stated above.
