Moving is fun...

We are packing... we did this last year about this time, we moved my wife and myself, and our 5 kids, into a much-to-small house in town. It was understood at the time that it was short term, 1 to 2 years at the most, and the house we moved into was just an investment/rental property... So for the last year, we have been looking and hoping and dreaming. And dreams come true. We sign papers tomorrow on a great house, on a hill, out in the country, with 117 acres, a huge barn, and another rental house, all in one deal. We looked at the ad for this new place a year ago, but it was so far out of our range we just dreamed... but now we found a way to make it work!

Which brings us to packing... I hate packing. I hate moving. This BETTER be the last time I do it in my life.

Wife is yelling, kids are crying, we are all going nuts. But we are getting it done. Older kids are helping to pack, little ones are following behind un-packing what we just packed up... loads of fun! But we'll make it...

back to it before the wife catches me on the computer while I should be packing...

when we move we label the box with the room it needs to be in. drop the wife and first load off and keep making trips untill we are done. works great for us but it takes me a couple of months to find were she put everything.

Congrats on the new house/farm. I am right down the road from you in NC, if I didn't live here we would live in WVa. My older sister lives there on top of a mountain outside of Princeton and thats where I plucked my wife off the same mountain. Beautiful state, congrats again...

Finally got a house phone and internet last week... mowed the yard a few times... settling in... still unpacking. Wife can finally set out her massive collection of porcelin dolls... and her for-show-only dining room table and china that the kids and I get in touble for going near!

The wife keeps telling me I will get my own garage but until then I'm allowd to use a little part of "her" barn as such... just dont grind weld hammer or in any way disturb the horses when they are in said barn. Nice to know where I am on our family ladder... *grin*

Sure is nice to be able to enjoy going home... sitting in the back yard... kids playin... watchin the horses... riding 4-wheelers...

Still loads to do... stayin busy... barn repairs... fence repairs... 4-wheelers to fix... trucks to maintain... tools to arange... shop to set up...

Guess I should post a pic or two... will when I can.

That sounds like to much fun to me, I would really enjoy that type of work especially since it's all yours. Yeah you have to post pics because you know what the guys on here say "it ain't happening without pics". Look forward to the pics of the new homestead.

Oh one more thing - Women are a breed of their own, my wife has her own quirks. Sometimes when I see something on tv a woman does I will say to her " Look at how your breed does "
