Time to bite the bullet???
OK...Jessie and I are going to be parents and now we have the issue of needing something a little more "Kid Friendly". She has made a comment about me selling Brisco...and getting a econo 4 door.
Well, I layed down the law. Brisco is staying. Why you ask? It's simple: -With 212K miles, I wouldn't get much for him, privately or trade in. -He already has 4 doors, 4wd, and is safer on the road than just about anything else. -He's more like a family member than a vehicle. -I owe more on him that I could sell him for. -What happens if/when we need a truck down the road? Why sell something we are planning on needing in 1-5 years? So...with that being said, I suggested that we trade in her 2002 Accord V6 2 dr, for something similar in a 4 dr. LIKE an early 2000-ish Accord 4dr...with the V6...and as close to the options she already has as possible. Would probably add on just a little in the way of purchase price. Now...What would y'all suggest for us to get IF we decided to sell her car and get something 'newish'? Requirements are: - Must be 4 dr - 4wd is a plus - manual or auto...don't really mind - Around or under $20K - No SUV's or Crossovers. (They are ghey!) - Something that is at least as fun to drive as my 1998 Neon and Brisco. |

i'd go for the 4 door accord. you be surprised at the places a front wheel drive car will go. haha. and in snow, there just as good as a AWD, if not better. and there comfy, and they get good gas mpg, and they hold there value pretty darn well. My dad's on his second accord, my brother owns one, and i used to own one. and i'd say before long, dad'll be tradin in mom's toyota sienna minivan on an accord. or you could go for a honda oddyessy minivan. if you wanna go the minivan route. haha. the newer ones are actually pretty darn peppy. i defitetly would shy away from a toyota sienna tho. my mom's has like 115k on it, and its already on its second tranny. tranny went right after the warranty went out at 100k or there abouts now if you weren't so concerned about gas mpg, i'd suggest something different, but you are, so thats my vote. but thats just my 2 cents. take it as ya like

@ crown vic -- but is roomy and rides nice!I would suggest a Hyundai Sonata LX .... they have all the options including traction control (Subi's are the only AWD standard cars out there) for a great price -- Jill and I owned the 02 - 05(I think) body style and LOVED it. Just as good if not better than the other Jap cars out there and for a great price... you could probably get one for (LX being the highest optioned) for what you'd get out of her 2dr Honda! |

Actually, after seeing Stumps X at the SSS...she likes 'em...but they are "too big". Maybe if I can find her a 2wd 6.0 with 60K-ish on it...for a decent price...and let her drive it!!! hehehehe.
Problem with that is, I'll be spending all my MOD money on HER truck and NOTHING on Brisco!!!
