Honeymoon ideas

We are getting married March 8, 2013 and have been thinking of honeymoon ideas. Thought a cruise, and maybe. Cheapest was about 1800 total.
We're asking for honeymoon donations as wedding gifts, so that's on the top end of our budget I think.
Other idea was go to some resort style place in the state or close to us.
So? got any new ideas or resorts you know of/have been to?

My Samsung SGH-I997 made me send this.

Probably too far. I would like to see Vegas though.
Problem is, we don't know how much we'd be getting from gifts
Maybe we'd have enough to drive to Vegas, look around, and not stay anywhere and drive back

What about a Bed & Breakfast or a Resort along the gulf coast? That doesn't look too far. (I looked up Nacogdoches on Google Earth) There might be some nice places down there. Not too far, but far enough.

Never been to Mexico. Hmmmm. Close than Washington, might be better :
Our main place options were Big Bend (desert type mountains), Hill County (rolling hills, lots of green), and the coast. But that's not a lot, hence why I asked for more.
I know of at least one coast resort they keep playing ads for here.

I have always wanted to go to Mobile, AL to see the white sand beaches!
Don't really have interest in the city though.

If you are wanting a hilly scenery how bout Tennesse? Smoky mountain area.

I would vote cruise as well. We waited a week after we got married to go on our honeymoon. It cost us right around $1200, sailing out of Galveston on Carnival. It was a 5 night western carribean. Stopped at a couple places in Mexico. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

You can have a "staycation" for a while and do the honeymoon later. Saved us some $$$
