Reflections

I am posting this in the 3 forums I am able to frequent the most. Very soon I will be turning 47-years-old. For the past week, every time someone reminds me of this, I've reflected on my life. Mind you, I can't complain. If I did, I would consider myself to be very ungrateful, but ... although I can remember certain things, I don't know where all those years have gone?

I've already been through my midlife crisis LOL This is different. This is thinking of all the things you wanted to do. I don't expect I will live to 100 years and quite frankly, I don't think I want to but I know it's getting closer and I got my darling grandkids. Now, I saw a lady today that is 5-years-older than me and looks like my mother but that doesn't help

To those of you of have experienced this I'm going on a half-a-century; what do you suggest? I want to finally get my piano graduation diploma, for my mother who passed away in 92. There are certain places I want to visit. I know I'm sounding grim but when am I supposed to think these things out.

Thanks for the consulation, just send me a bill. Let's hope I don't croak first :whistle:LOL

Thanks,
Vivian

Thanks,
Vivian

i bet you have quite a few years left Viv, atleast another 50yrs!. you are a good, kind, person and i think by being that, GOD lets you live longer so you can keep on being so good. please dont be down about turning another year older. i think you should do what ever your heart desires, whether it be learning the piano, or going to italy, or whatever. live your life to the fullest!!! I think every now and then, man i am 30, holy cow. what have i done in those 30 yrs. well, i graduated high school, i served 6 1/2 honorable years of that in the Worlds greatest Air Force. i have a family and 2 children! even though i dont remember everything i know i have lived my life like i should have. i have no regrets at all. i hope this helps.

I'm not even 46 yet, only 39, but if your in a position in life where you can do the few things that you haven't gotten to do yet and these things will make you feel complete and happier then go for it!! When you look back you will be happier that you got to accomplish all you wanted to do.

Thank you Rob. I'm not sure if it's that I'm afraid of dying or just knowing that sooner or later it's to be. Maybe 2.7 seconds on a bull name Fu Man Chu will help LOL

SMKSTAX - I'm making a list of the things I want to do. I kind of feel like Jimmy in Yes, Dear. But there really is not much I'd be interested in if I couldn't have my family with me. I think globally since there are a few of us LOL.

I'm happy - I guess I just don't want to grow older. Not in the sense that I would want to be young again cause I wouldn't trade what I lived. I don't feel this old either which makes it hard to accept, I guess LOL

Thanks,
Vivian

Vivian - I think we all have those moments when we just stop and think - hell, I've had them and I'm 28! I start to think about what an I really doing in this life - what good have I done.. but then I think about my family and the things I've been blessed with and the places I've been blessed to see.

I have two beautiful kids, a lovely wife, and soon a home to be proud of! I was also the first person in my family or my wife's family(I think?) to graduate college with a Bachelor's degree.. once of my best accomplishments I think (other than the cuties my wife and I have as children )

I too have a list of things I want to do and I think that is all you can do - just make that list and start marking things off! Be happy you are still able to do the things you love and enjoy the rest of your life... you are a good person and nothing will ever change that - I can't wait to get you know you and your family more as I start to make more purchases and deal with diesels

Thank you all. I think sometimes we question our lives and old age is probably on top of the list. I have so many things to be thankful for At 13-years-old I got in trouble for doing something I didn't want to do. Then and there I decided I would never again do anything I didn't want to do. To this day I've kept my promise and have nothing to regret because every thing I did, I did because I wanted to.

I have written a list of things I would like to do and see. When I started to write the list I could not think of anything but I concentrated and remembered previous thoughts. Can we revisit this next year to see how many things on my list I actually accomplished?

Thanks,
Vivian

Vivian, you are still young and young at heart.

Sounds like it's time to take more vacations, enjoy family more and see some sites!!!

What's that one saying:

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well
preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "...holy ****! ...what a ride!"
