A little history first - will make the story easier to understand.
1) A year ago I had back surgery, removed L4 disk - Microdiskectomy, all went well - but I have not exercised the back muscles like I should have beyond any normal day to day activity. Lately my back has been bothering me just a little. No biggie - just a little sore off/on.
2) My girlfriend is active AF Reserves, Lt. Colonel, runs (runs - not jogs - runs) some 5 miles - 3 days a week, extremely well fit, teached yoga 3 times a day - 3 days a week for years - she is fit.
3) I on the other hand - only run if something bigger then me or 4 legs is chasing me. I do yoga a few days a week in the morning to help with my back and general toning. I've recently lost 30lbs and feel fantastic - generally good health.
So I was at lunch with my girlfriend yesterday - long story short - we were talking about my back hurting a little the last few days and she mentions that we need to strengthen my core. Then she throws a challenge out to me:
She challenges me to the first of the 2 of us to complete 100 pushups - tracked online and we have to be able to complete the challenge infront of our children (4 between the 2 of us#.
Her last PT test she had to do 25 in under 3 minutes. This morning I struggled to do 5

at all. I'm in trouble!
Plus - she wants a wager! If I am the first to reach 100 - #big "if" right?) what do I want? Likewise - if she reaches 100 first - what she wants.
