wtf 7 yr old with a cell phone

So my step daughter (who i consider my own daughter) just a got a cell phone in the mail from her grandparents. 7 years old! I personally think it's rediculous idea. She sent me her first text today. And she used LOL in it.. again 7 years old! She can't even keep up with her back pack for school. A cell phone, I really can't believe it. Is it me, or are these kids growing up quicker than they really should be? Are times changing? How do you guys feel about kids having a cell phone?

not trying to tell u wut to do or anything, but i dont think a 7 year old needs a cell phone. ur the parent here, take it away and tell her she can have it when she is like 15. jus my opinion.

Dude, I have 3 daughters, and their ages are 1, 3, & 5. i came home the other day to my 3yr old, and 5yr old in full makeup. I chit myself, raised alot of hell, and did as i was told by my wife. Kids really are growing up faster than normal IMO. It sucks.

yeah, I already expressed how i felt about it.. but i guess as soon as she loses it, than it's done. no more. i guess that was my compromise.
