Yet another what tire should I get question
Hi Guys,
I'm about to pick up my '05 F350 with its newly installed 2.5" Icon leveling kit. My next purchase will be new tires when the Continentals wear out. I'm going to keep my stock 18' wheels for now. I've been reading hundreds of posts (I know, get a life) on tire choices. I know what I want (Toyo O.C. M/Ts) but I also know I don't need them being in Florida and not doing a lot of off roading. The reviews rate them better for noise than the Toyo ATs. I know this can't be true. Is there a huge noise difference between the two? If not, I'd be inclined to get them just cause they look so cool. Second question...if I do go with them should I go with the usual 35X12.5? I haven't seen the 285/75/18s. They're about 10 lbs lighter, about the same height. They're also a better fit for the wheels. If anyone has a picture of that size on their truck I'd appreciate seeing it. Thanks in advance for the help. I'm learning a lot on this site.

I have a 2.5" leveling kit and the Toyo 285/75/18 M/T they fit the stock 8" wheels better than the 35x12.50. I really like the way they look and ride I have about 3000 miles on mine right now. They are a little loud but not bad. Here are some pic's

Thanks TNACUSTOM
That's exactly what I needed to see. I agree, your truck looks great. Familiar too, except mine is an extended cab. Although I like the look of the big honkin' 325s, the 285s still look very good. That, and the fact that the 285s are recommended for 8" wheels as well as the weight savings, have me convinced. |
